
Kay McLorn |

Kay qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1985 from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown. Northern Ireland. She worked in the NHS for 14 years gaining experience in a variety of clinical settings, including Musculo-skeletal utpatients, Orthopaedics, Adult and Paediatric Neurology. In 1991 she became Clinical Tutor for Physiotherapy in one of Belfast’s leading teaching hospitals responsible for organising and evaluating the clinical education for Physiotherapy students. She was also involved in research in the Gait Analysis Laboratory, Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast and became a recognised teacher at the University of Ulster for some part-time hours on the undergraduate Physiotherapy course. Kay opened Blackstone Physiotherapy in 1999 and from that time it has continued to grow to one of the largest physiotherapy clinics in Northern Ireland with a second clinic being opened in Carrickfergus in 2009. Kay developed her interest in Pilates many years ago understanding the importance of maintaining and improving muscle tone and spinal mobility to create a more functional body. She found that Pilates was undoubtedly the best way of doing this; encouraging good posture, minimising pain, dysfunction and potential problems. Kay says “ Pilates is like the icing on the cake!” , she incorporates Pilates exercises in all her treatments and believes fitness and well being is utmost to a healthy life! Kay completed courses in Body Control Pilates in 2001 and is now a fully certified matwork instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) a worldwide recognised establishment for Pilates training. She also has completed training on Pilates equipment (reformer, cadillac etc), small equipment and Ante and Post-natal Pilates. She is also an international presenter for APPI delivering the APPI method training to other healthcare professionals as it leads the

Libby Robinson |

| Libby qualified from the University of Ulster in 1984. She has many years of experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist and specialised in Rheumatology and Hydrotherapy when working in Musgrave Park Hospital, concentrating at this time on gaining the balance between pain and exercise. She joined Blackstone Physiotherapy in 2003 and from that time has developed her interest in Pilates. She completed intermediate workshops in Body Control Pilates which were held in Blackstone Physiotherapy in 2005. She has now completed training to become a fully certified Pilates matwork Instructor with APPI. Libby has completed ongoing CPD courses including Ante and Postnatal and is the instructor in many of the classes in PilatesTone®. | |

Heather Fair |

| Heather qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of Ulster in 1981 and joined the Practice in May 2006 working on a part-time basis. She has worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in many areas principally working in the rehabilitation of neurologically impaired people; Acquired Brain Injury, Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis. Heather has completed all matwork courses with APPI and many CPD courses specialising in theraband and ball work. | |

Lesley Bell |

| Lesley is Royal Academy of Dance trained enjoying over ten years of ballet dancing and worked for a number of years as a dance teacher
assistant. Lesley’s Pilates experience started over four years ago after
Kay recommended Pilates for her lower back pain. She was so amazed
with the results and the difference it made to her life that it was a natural
progression to begin to teach Pilates as it complements her interest in
classical ballet and contemporary dance. In 2010 Lesley was accepted onto the intense Body Control Pilates Matwork Certification Course Level 3 in London. She is looking forward to completing her examinations and assessment and working with the team in PilatesTone®. Currently Lesley works as Marketing Manager within the Blackstone Clinic. |
