She found that Pilates was undoubtedly the best way of doing this; encouraging good posture, minimising pain, dysfunction and potential problems. Kay says “Pilates is like the icing on the cake!”, she incorporates Pilates exercises in all her treatments and believes fitness and well being is utmost to a healthy life! Kay completed courses in Body Control Pilates in 2001 and is now a fully certified matwork instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) a worldwide recognised establishment for Pilates training. She also has completed training on Pilates equipment (reformer, cadillac etc), small equipment and Ante and Post-natal Pilates.

She is also an international presenter for APPI delivering the APPI method training to other healthcare professionals as it leads the world in Pilates rehabilitation. Blackstone is now the recognised APPI regional centre for training pilates in Ireland.
